THALASSA RESTAURANT
The Thalasa restaurant combines the large breakfast buffet served each morning with à la carte Mediterranean-inspired dishes for lunch and dinner. Enjoy rice, pasta, meat and fresh fish inside the air-conditioned restaurant or on its modern outdoor terrace.

SIWICHI RESTAURANT
Taste authentic Peruvian cuisine à la carte and transport yourself to this wonderful country during your dinner at the Siwichi restaurant. Choose between tasty typical dishes such as fish ceviche, tuna tiradito, pork carapulcra or sautéed noodles with shrimp. Enjoy them on the outdoor terrace and leave room for delicious desserts such as suspiro limeño or canelado.

TAO-CAT
If you are passionate about Asian food, Tao-Cat is your restaurant, since it offers dishes from various countries of this great continent. Savor everything from ramen with tonkotsu and stuffed bao bread, to chicken gyozas or curried sea bream tenderloins. A culinary trip to Asia without leaving the Caribbean.

LA TOSCANA
Come to La Toscana restaurant to savor typical dishes of the most traditional Italian cuisine. All made with the secret of nonna: time and love. Choose between fresh pasta dishes, baked lasagna, as well as meat stews such as osobusco milanesa. Delicious!

BLOVED
Sit on the terrace covered by a palm tree roof and enjoy a vegetarian and organic menu (without meat). An eclectic gastronomic proposal that combines typical Caribbean dishes with other more international ones. At breakfast time, à la carte delicacies such as pancakes, scrambled eggs or crepes are served.

If the name of the credit card supplied when booking at the Catalonia Royal La Romana hotel does not coincide with the name of the guest, please contact the hotel in advance. An identity check and valid credit card are required to check in. Once the booking has been made, the hotel will contact guests to organise advance pre-payment. Amazing staff and resort!
We joined the Exclusive Travelers Club 5 years ago and had a wonderful trip scheduled in May 2020 and of course then had it cancelled! We just got back from our rescheduled trip and it was amazing! Our adult daughter also traveled with us and I can't say enough about this property! We loved the beach with fabulous clear water, the rooms are wonderful, and restaurants were great! But the staff is what made it an amazing vacation! Even before we arrived the Concierge Domingo was in contact and made sure everything was ready for our stay! When we got to the property Domingo met us and welcomed us and we met Sebastian and they walked us to our rooms and made sure we had everything we needed and arranged our meals! Junior and Sebastian checked in with us multiple times a day and they all got us whatever we needed! The entire staff including Chavely and Miguel made sure we had a fabulous time! Juan made sure we had rides to the beach! Also the maid service and cleanliness of the resort were impeccable! My daughter had a birthday the day we were leaving and they made that special, with decorating her room and a special dinner and cake on our last night and staff surprising her and serenading her! Thank you all for making our trip the best ever!

We were two weeks, staff is friendly, especialy in Sushi bar on the beach, a bit chaotic with classes and restaurants, it is complicated to walk from catalonia resort to adults only, too sufficient seating places by lunch. Dinners are a bit boring, the same all the time. Rooms are sometimes bad smelt.

Another wonderful stay at Royal Catalonia Bayahibe
Has a wonderful stay staring with the amazon Braulio and Daya, making the check in and out very easy and pleasant. Worth to mention Andrea from room service, Christian and Alex from the restaurant, and last but not least Luis form the beach bar… excellent staff.

Only complaint
The resort was clean, staff were friendly. My only complaint is the smoking on the grounds. Smoking is allowed everywhere, I wish there were designated areas to smoke, the second hand smoke was very intrusive. Also on the beach people are disposing of their butts in the sand, it is a shame people have to walk through them to get to the ocean.

Mostly great but some to be desired
We were a little worried our first day- but it turned around pretty well. First day A/C wasn’t working and they didn’t have the room we booked. Honestly we did end up liking the one they switched us to better and it was an upgrade. They did quickly address the A/C and it worked fabulously the rest of the time. Second day we woke up to the water being out at the entire hotel. That part was pretty awful. Luckily it was an excursion day for us and it was fixed upon our return. It was out from at least 4am-11am which with a hotel full of people using toilets…. Not great. Only other complaint would be that the room service options are fairly terrible. No breakfast option, very limited, and don’t alway modify very well. I have never seen such a small room service menu and for a 5-star 24 hour included room service situation that was slightly disappointing. Mini bar was also lacking. Peanuts were the only “snack” and the only alcohol was two tiny presidente beers. Also not able to order alcohol through room service or anything- so just be prepared for that. Again for a 5-star resort- was a bit disappointed. Room was a little outdated with a bit of a musty smell. However, everything else was fantastic and well worth it. I know it sounds like a lot of negatives but just trying to be honest and not set you up to be like…. Wtf?? The beach was fantastic, there were a ton of restaurants and food choices and everything we ate was wonderful. We never went hungry. Drinks/bar was also fantastic, we loved our little private pool. Never did we struggle to find seats at the pool or beach. There is a wonderful little shopping center there with everything you could need if you forgot anything. We really enjoyed our time and I definitely want to bring my family back. Would definitely consider staying at this resort again.

Superbe séjour!
Premier séjour au Catalonia Royal La Romana et sûrement pas notre dernier. Malgré un problème avec notre chambre, le tout a été réglé dès le lendemain. Site très propre, belle végétation, gens souriants, très grande chambre, femme de chambre discrète et efficace, plusieurs restaurants pour tous les goûts. Plage magnifique, l'eau claire de la Mer des Caraïbes dans laquelle on se laisse bercer. Beaucoup de chaises, de pallapas et parasols. Belle équipe d'animation et de gentils serveurs vous apportent votre breuvage préféré. Que demander de plus!

All staff at the resort were very friendly, except the bench bar staff , some how they dont like engish speaking people.. I was inline waiting to be serve and was bypassed to next person beside me and to next person also both were spanish speaking, even the person he jump to says that I was next, they munble words in spanish.. Happened quite a few times

Amazing resort true to culture
The resort was beautiful the Royal beach was the cleanest I’ve been in not a single rock in the sand or seaweed rubbing on your feet. The restaurants were delicious especially Siwichi the Peruvian spot. It was the first resort we’ve been to that truly embraced and kept the culture of the country. In food, music, and the friendliness of staff. The Royal side is great for relaxing and unwinding and when you are ready to party and have fun just head next door to the Bayahibe and dance the night away

We had a good time
Overall we had a good time. Adult only area is clean and convenient.. Some of the things could be improved. Many of the staff don't speak English at all. And it is understandable, but I would expect the barman's would be more fluent. Some times they can't even make you a drink you want. The food in the buffet on the beach should be better, for sure. And you have to follow food prep health protocols better.
